(Now, up front, this review discusses my expertise with this set and an older-three and younger-five girl. I would not suggest this set for all three-year-olds, and not for any without major help. If you've a child who places factors in their mouths, it is most probably no longer the most effective, due to the selection of small parts.) I love Legos. As a grownup, I don't get many opportunities to work them, however my nephew (who is 10) and I even have worked Legos collectively on Thanksgiving since he was once three. It is a tradition both of us love. This 12 months, my three-year-old daughter wished in on the motion, and helped us type pieces for a huge Harry Potter set. I was thrilled after I saw that the model new Lego Friends sets had been coming out, as she is both math/science inclined and a womany woman, and I knew this is able to be a good intro to Legos for her. We received the veterinarian set as a present. My spouse, my daughter, her five-year-old cousin and I really have labored on this set collectively during the last two evenings, and it maintains the girls' consideration very neatly. My daughter will work on it for an hour and a half at a time, and if you already know three-year-olds this is no small feat. The ladies split their time between building, and extra conventional 'girl' play of choosing up the characters and appearing out little scenes. The pieces are usually conventional, multi-purpose Legos, in new ladyy colours, with the addition of the model new Friends determines. These are named personas with distinctive, marketing-department-written personalities, with which women can establish (think My Little Pony or Care Bear). Otherwise, the units make a nice, colorful town in traditional Lego fashion. The set has all of the sturdiness and reliability of any Lego set (if you are lacking a section, it is because you can now not find it, now not since they did not embody it). As we were building tonight, my daughter turned to me and mentioned, "We're excellent builders, Daddy." That's all a Lego-phile daddy wanted to listen to.

My 5-year previous daughter and I have been extremely joyful to hear that Lego was once at last introducing a brand new line for her age crew and have been counting down the days except the launch. We went to our native Lego retailer these days, when the doors opened, to buy our first Lego Friends set. My daughter selected the Heartlake Vet set, got here residence, and straight away started to construct. Over the path of four hours, she constructed most of it herself after which loved enjoying with it. The directions were easy for her to observe, and the method was once manageable because the Legos have been divided amongst 4 sequential baggage. She seems extraordinarily wanting to play "vet" with the two figures and three animals. There are loads of enjoyable equipment this variety ofs an x-ray machine, scale, computer, telephone, pet bed, deal withs for the animals, examination desk and instruments, and cart to transport animals. The set even features a mail slot with a bit of mail that drops right into a mailbox on the inside. So so much fun!
My most effective grievance is that the set may be very small and it is exhausting to make use of the tiny equipment within the small area (the field makes it look quite a bit higher than it is when built). I wish Lego made it just a bit larger.

Lego hit the nail on the head with the new Friends line. Eight yr outdated daughter is extremely joyful to eventually have Legos that match her passions (veterinary clinic) and sense of favor (colors, flowers, howeverterflies, and many others.). She is fortunately constructing the set now and I'm sure could have a nice time enjoying with this.
